What has changed on the Breguet Marine?
The dials. According to Monochrome, the new faces carry a “Quai de l’Horloge” guilloché beneath semi-transparent lacquer, applied gold Breguet numerals replace the previous Roman numerals and the date moves to 6 o’clock. On the chronograph, three unequal counters give way to two registers of equal size, a calmer and more symmetrical layout.
How much does the Breguet Marine cost?
At the time of writing, US prices published by Time+Tide start at about $26,400 for the Marine 5517 in titanium on rubber and $30,000 on a titanium bracelet, rising to $48,900 in gold on rubber and $80,300 on a gold bracelet. The Marine Chronographe 5527 runs from about $33,000 in titanium on rubber and $36,600 on bracelet to $59,400 in gold on rubber and $93,900 on a gold bracelet. In Switzerland, Monochrome lists the 5517 from about CHF 20,000 to CHF 60,800 and the 5527 from CHF 25,000 to CHF 71,100.
Breguet Marine specs
The Marine 5517 measures 40mm by 11.5mm, 47.7mm lug to lug, with 100m water resistance and the automatic Calibre 777A at 4Hz with a 55-hour reserve, per Time+Tide. The Marine Chronographe 5527 is 42.3mm by 13.9mm and uses the Calibre 582QA flyback chronograph at 4Hz with a 48-hour reserve.

The history: Breguet and the sea
Abraham-Louis Breguet opened his workshop on the Quai de l’Horloge in Paris in 1775, the address that gives the new guilloché its name. In 1815 he was appointed chronometer maker to the French Royal Navy, supplying the marine chronometers used for navigation at sea. The modern Marine collection, launched in 1990, draws on that title, and the current generation of the 5517 and 5527 arrived in 2023. This update brings the collection closer to the classical codes of the Classique line, without losing its sporting build.
